In June at our Summer Handicraft and Produce Show members showcased their talents in classes, such as cookery, flower arranging, sewing, knitting, photography and beadwork, to name just a few. The judges deemed the standard excellent. First in the Produce section was Janet Matthews, second Eileen Edwards and third Barbara Langford. Eileen Edwards won a Best in Show in Flower Arranging and Kath Ibbottson in Cookery. The overall Craft winner was Pauline Isaac, second Barbara Griffiths and third Hilda Smith. Best in Show awards in the Craft Section went to Pauline Isaac and Barbara Griffiths.
In June our walking group the CWIRLS (Curdworth WI Rambling & Lunch Society) enjoyed – thankfully on a fine and sunny day – a lovely ‘Butter Cup Walk’ through the fields around Whitacre Heath, with a great lunch afterwards at The Railway Pub.
Not to be missed on September 7th is our Open Evening. This year will be a Ladies Pamper Evening, a ‘High Street’ with stalls featuring, beauty and hair care, fashion, jewellery, handbags and lots more – all the ‘shopping’ we ladies love. With a glass of wine on arrival, a fabulous raffle and a chance to spoil yourself, it will be a great evening, so why not come and join us
