Galliford Try Infrastructure get ‘Charity of the Year’ partnership off to a great start!

Galliford Try Infrastructure on Leicester Road, Wolvey, recently chose local good cause the Mary Ann Evans Hospice as their charity of the year, having researched causes in the area and casting a team vote. The team, having just launched the partnership on the 3rd of July, hosted a staff ‘Big Brew’ tea party to kick off their fundraising efforts and will continue to hold events throughout the year, with a fantastic £1500 fundraising target.

As part of their partnership, the team at Galliford Try also offered to do some community work in the Hospice grounds and recently sent a team of 9 staff to work in the Hospice gardens for the day. Facilities Co-ordinator, Dave Evans, asked the group to clean up the overgrown allotment, which they completed quickly, moving on to the rest of the garden, pruning and weeding wherever was needed. Dave and Hospice Volunteer Brian Town were so impressed and are already looking forward to the team returning for a second day in September.

During their visit, Galliford Try employees were also given a tour of the Hospice, showing them how their fundraising and volunteering benefits the hospice patients, driving home how important partnerships like these are.

Gemma Thompson, Fundraiser at the Mary Ann Evans Hospice, said; “We’re delighted to be chosen as Galliford Try’s charity partner of the year and look forward to supporting the company in their quest to raise £1500. We would like to say a big thank you for the team’s hard work on their recent community day and we look forward to seeing more of them over the coming months.”
