CHILDREN’S UNIVERSITY GRADUATION SUMMER 2017

On Tuesdsay 13th June 2017, 21 students from The Coleshill School took part in the Children’s University Graduation ceremony at Birmingham University.

Parents proudly watched as their children, dressed in black cap and gown, received awards in recognition of their dedication to extra-curricular activities.  The Coleshill School had 20 Gold Award winners achieving over a 100 hours of learning activities.

Ben Mattey, received his University Diploma with over 300 hours achieved.  Leo Francom-Gladders, received his Children’s University Fellowship award, having worked over 1000 hours

The Children’s University Trust provides 7 to 14 year olds with exciting and innovative learning activities and experiences outside school hours.  The passport to learning has been created where students collect stamps for hours of accredited learning which contribute to the award of a certificate.

Miss Blunt, Enrichment and Children’s University coordinator commented “It was a fabulous event in a beautiful setting and we were all inspired by the ceremony and guest speakers, Mayor of The West Midlands Andy Street, Councillor Stuart Davis Mayor of Solihull and Professor Carl Chinn.  We are so proud of our students and what they have achieved.  The only challenge was re-locating their caps after they were all thrown in the air in celebration on the Aston Webb steps!”
